Kainé Management Group has undertaken research into these songs and the findings form part of a touring exhibition with both audio and visual presentations around the city and county. The exhibition will include an introduction to negro spirituals, decoding of songs, audio excerpts, to include “Swing Low Sweet Chariot” and “Drinking Gourd”, focusing on heroes of abolitionism and the development of negro spirituals into gospel music today.
